Wedding photography has changed considerably in recent years. Gone are the stiff unnatural poses and rigid group shots. In their place is a relaxed, informal storybook of the day as it unfolds.
Davids photography offers exactly the specialised contemporary approach that many of todays couples are looking for. Recording not only the people, personalities and events of the day, but also images of the brides bouquet and dress, shoes and jewellery, order of service, menus and sometimes even the food itself. Details which you will have taken a great deal of time and effort to choose, and which most traditional photographers ignore. The images produced create a lasting reflection of the true spirit and emotion of the day - in the faces of family and friends, in the details of the dress and bouquet and the loving expressions of the bride and groom.
Personal consultation and discussion well in advance of the day means that David can tailor the photography to your individual requirements. David discreetly captures the images of your wedding, leaving you free to relax and mingle with guests and family. Coverage usually starts with the bride and groom during their preparations and extends to the reception. Approximately 250-300 images are taken during the day and can be a mixture of colour and black & white depending on your preference. The majority will be informal, although relaxed group shots can easily be incorporated, efficiently and with the minimum of fuss, as some family members may prefer these.
Once completed, the images are selected by the bride and groom, with Davids assistance if needed, and incorporated into an attractive bespoke designer album with a varied choice of styling and layout. Your images dictate the design and style of the pages, creating a unique record of your day, unlike a traditional album where photographs have to be shoe-horned into a standard style layout.
To ensure that you are fully relaxed and confident about the photography on the day a free pre-wedding shoot takes place, normally about six weeks prior to the wedding. This not only provides an opportunity to discuss with David any specific queries you may have, but also lets you get to know him a little better and to discover that being photographed can be great fun! The best image from the shoot is then framed and taken to the reception for your guests to sign their best wishes around the mount.
David will unobtrusively capture those moments of the day that make it so unique: beautiful detail shots, glamorous fashion style images of the bride and groom and candid images of your guests simply enjoying themselves. All this while you are left to relax and enjoy your special day.
Portrait Photography: David's approach
Davids portraits are at the forefront of a new and exciting approach to social photography, a world away from the old fashioned studio style of yesteryear. His style is natural and relaxed with the emphasis on the creation of informal contemporary images.
Personal consultation is the key. David spends time chatting with you, getting to know your tastes and preferences. You will have the chance to look through his own portfolio as well as images from magazines, CD covers etc. You can therefore decide your own individual style: whether you prefer black & white or colour and the kind of feel you would like for your photographs. This getting to know you process also allows you to relax and enjoy the shoot, making the creation of natural, spontaneous pictures so much easier.
The photographs are taken in your own environment: in your home, or grounds and gardens, meaning you will be much more at ease. This also provides a creative impetus for David, ensuring that no two shoots are ever the same, and making your portrait totally unique.
Once completed the photographs are presented to you for selection, and the final choice, or choices, are mounted and framed to your specifications. Here again, time and care are taken to ensure every aspect is fully considered. The frame colour and image itself should harmonise with, and complement the setting where the picture will be seen. A beautiful image, sensitively displayed can be a wonderful enhancement to a room.
From the photo shoot to the final image and its presentation, David works with you to produce an image you will be proud to have in your home and which will give you countless pleasure for years to come.
